You're thinking if only I could meet someone that’s reliable, genuine, honest and thoughtful? Well I might just be who you’ve been looking for. Yes there has to be some physical attraction between us but the biggest attraction is personality and if yours clicks with mine then a world of laughter and shared enjoyment awaits us. Well if that hasn't put you off then I'm in with a chance! I love to find the humour in appropriate situations and can sometimes be found laughing to myself because I’ve thought of something that has raised a giggle
I love 80s music, travel (I've been lucky to visit many countries at other peoples expense when I was working for a living) as well as good food and good company. I now do an unpaid volunteer carers job in the Nursing Home where my Mum has been for the past 5 years. All the residents have varying degrees of Dementia and some can be a real challenge to keep calm and make them feel safe and secure. It’s a total contrast to the work I used to do – visiting Chief Engineers, University Professors and Designers to demonstrate a state of the art displacement measurement system that could tell you if something had moved by a distance many times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. All very high tech with users including Formula 1 racing teams.
The Nursing Home role makes you appreciate that rewards are not all monetary or technical firsts. Getting a smile from a Lady because you’ve managed to pick a verbal path through the confusion, randomness and sometimes fear of them believing that they have all sorts of problems that only exist in their head is just the best experience. I’m no expert but I’m a good listener and seem to be able to develop a degree of empathy and trust. Maybe I chose the wrong career!
I’ve recently joined a gym and now go 3 or 4 times a week which combined with a healthier diet means I’ve managed some reasonable weight loss and circumference reduction! I’ve also started the NHS couch to 5k program for running – early days but not sure I’ll continue with that!
I'm looking for a partner to share travel experiences with, have a morning coffee, visit the local pub, share a country walk (when it's not raining), evenings in with a nice meal and a good film. Unlike the majority of people (it would seem!) on this site - I guarantee I'll reply to you if you send me a message
