"Nerdy but nice " |
Do you like etymology? Do you care about punctuation? Would you like to discuss "Life, the Universe, and Everything"? If yes, we might get along...
I miss conversation and human contact. Though I love my work , it absorbs too much of my time and soul, and so I seek new friends and experiences. I enjoy long, in-depth conversations where we can winkle out the reasons why we get out of bed in the morning (i.e. our motivations in life and work) and ponder the best way to treat our fellow human beings (and the rest of the ecosystem). I have come to realize I am decidedly sapiosexual (though pheromones still matter)./
Having lived abroad for some years, in Japan, USA and Canada, I am very happy to be back in lovely London and hope I will never have to leave./
I am Team Cat, often finding them much simpler companions (and even better interlocutors) than bipeds. I have developed a nice sideline in cat-sitting that raises money for charity. Dogs are OK, but just not quite as good... /
Politics matters hugely and we don't think about it enough. Likewise, ethics./
I used to love travel, but these days I find airports overwhelming and exhausting, and so rarely venture into them. I prefer to enjoy exploring the UK's attractions, circling around London, then Surrey/Kent/Essex, and maybe eventually sweeping out wider to the wilds of Wales and the Lake District (I've never been!)./
When alone (most evenings & weekends), I read a lot, I go to exhibitions (busman's holiday) and I sit under trees, doing more reading. When my friends emerge from their caves, we go to the pub. I like attending the theatre and musical concerts, but only in company, so don't manage it enough.
