Lively and livelyminded lady
I'm an easy going, broad minded, independent, sparky professional woman, with a lively mind and a full (and fulfilling) life. Plenty of work and social projects on the go, but also plenty of time left for play. I also enjoy conversation, both lively banter and deep discussion, have wide ranging areas of interest (art, film, food, wine, sciences, music, psychology and beyond).

I'm ready for a serious relationship with someone who will match me sufficiently (though with enough differences to make it interesting), stretch and challenge me, excite and delight me (and of course, enjoy the same in return), who can be sensual, tactile, passionate, as well as visually and intellectually engaged, able to enjoy both a centred stillness and an active outer life, ready and able to give and receive, wanting to be the most important people in each other's lives whilst leaving space for each of us to be our own person.

I should also say, by the way, that even if I am not the person for you, that I organise social meets in Norwich for people in their 40's and 50's. Do have a look at socialbuddies .co.uk for the current meets list.

Occupation:
17 years in the computer industry, though not as a techie. Enjoyed the fast-paced environment but ultimately wanted something more worthwhile. Turns out that psychotherapy was it - complex, fascinating, challenging and directly making a difference to people and their lives.
Education:
I have two masters degrees.
Religion:
I have spiritual beliefs that underpin my life, and on occasions my actions, but I am no fanatic or new age flake!
Languages Spoken:
I used to have pretty good French but regrettably little used over the years and now disintegrating. Some German no doubt still lodges in the crevices of my mind too.
Music Enjoyed:
Blues, Classical, Contemporary Classical, Folk, Jazz, Opera, Pop, Soft Rock, World Music, 70's music, 80's music, Heavy Rock. Music used to be a very central part of my life, till my mid 20's, when it moved to the periphery and I lost touch with what's around. But now rediscovering local live music and enjoying it.
Sports and exercise:
Swimming and moderate walking are my most regular activities. I like to swim regularly, and used to do things like pilates. But I've had to cut down on more active ways of keeping fit (gym, dancing tango, cycling) because of a knee injury. Had an introductory scuba lesson a while ago and loved it, and open to trying new things.
Interests and activities:
Art, Computers, Concerts, Cooking, Countryside, Eating Out, Friends, Painting, Pubs, Sculpture, Theatre. Love films, good food and wine, art, culture, reading (but rarely time for it now). Underpinning my life is a kind of green / eco friendly / alternative health / spiritual approach that may or may not be visible to the casual viewer but does inform how I live my life to a great extent.
Animals and Pets:
Many years ago I had 4 cats, much loved. But nowadays I have no pets, preferring to invest my energy into other areas of my life.
Newspapers and magazines:
For pleasure, it would have to be the Times or Sunday Times. But failing the luxury of time for that, it could well be catching up with my professional reading on a journey.
Books:
When I get time to read something more than the paper, I look for contemporary fiction, either humorous or serious. I look for something that is well written and has believable characters.
Favourite Films:
I love films, and have a large collection at home. Foreign favourites include Cinema Paradiso, Like Water for Chocolate. Others range from quality films like Driving Miss Daisy to the Shawshank Redemption, to the more escapist: Pirates of the Carribbean (Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow - delightful!), Strictly Ballroom, Sleepless in Seattle, Pulp Fiction.... just too many to list.
Enjoyable evening out:
I have pretty broad interests and am open-minded about trying new things. But my favourites are likely to be a film, art, a meal or drink. But I also enjoy active things like bowling, and am fairly pro-active in arranging my social life and seeking out new / interesting experiences.
Favourite Dishes:
I don't fit into any neat boxes here. Have been mainly vegetarian for quite some years, but also eat fish and more recently chicken/meat. Love most cuisines.. Happy to have familiar comfortable dishes as well as what might be called contemporary - upbeat, creative food which has been thought about
Ideal Holiday:
I find I prefer city breaks these days - the culture, sights, art, architecture, cuisine and people watching. Otherwise, I like a mixture of immobility in the presence of sun / sand / sea coupled with a stack of books to read (this is great for recharging my batteries) but after a day or two I am ready to go out and about, seeing and doing things. But not to extremes, eh? Scuba diving sounds grea
In another life:
Actually I am quite content with my current life, thanks
Personality:
Confident, Imaginative, Independent
